WisCEL offers instructors opportunities to explore and implement innovative instructional models, use active learning pedagogies, integrate instructional technology, and improve student engagement, learning and outcomes. In WisCEL classrooms, instructors are able to place emphasis on individualized and active learning through strategies which include flipped and blended models of instruction, student-centered inquiry, spontaneous peer collaboration, instructor-as-coach models, frequent and immediate learning progress feedback, and increased instructor time with students.
WisCEL impacts the student learning experience by providing on-campus learning environments that support face-to-face interaction and learning community, and instruction that prepares students for careers and life-long learning. WisCEL facilitates student learning by enabling engagement, achievement, academic mastery, performance skills, relationships, and self-efficacy.
